Sell a non-running motorhome

A broken-down motorhome may still be sellable.

We consider motorhomes with engine, gearbox, electrical and MOT problems across the UK, with recovery assessed around the vehicle and access.

Avoid repairing solely to make a private sale

A major fault can make advertising difficult and leave you paying for storage or speculative repairs. A direct sale considers the vehicle in its current state and the cost of moving it safely.

Provide the registration, make, model, year and mileage, then explain the symptoms and any garage diagnosis. Tell us whether the vehicle rolls, steers and brakes, and whether recovery access is available.

What helps us assess a non-runner

  • Registration, make, model, year and mileage
  • When it last ran or moved under its own power
  • Known diagnosis, fault codes or garage report
  • Whether it rolls, steers and brakes
  • MOT history, keys and V5C availability
  • Exact location, surface and recovery access

What we consider

  • Engine or gearbox failure
  • Vehicles that will not start
  • Failed or expired MOT
  • Electrical and warning-light faults
  • Accident or body damage
  • Long-term stored motorhomes
  • Damp plus mechanical issues
  • Vehicles requiring specialist recovery

Common questions

Every asset is different. If in doubt, send the details and ask us.

Can you collect a motorhome that does not start?+

Potentially. Recovery depends on size, weight, access and whether the vehicle can be loaded safely.

Do I need a garage diagnosis first?+

Not always, but any diagnosis, invoice or fault-code information can reduce uncertainty. Do not commission work solely for us without discussing it first.

Will an expired MOT prevent a sale?+

No. An expired or failed MOT can be considered, but the vehicle must be collected or transported lawfully.

What if the motorhome has damp as well?+

Tell us about both the mechanical and habitation condition. Multiple faults affect value but do not automatically rule out an assessment.
